Mechanical Applications Developer
Jim Bish specializes in mechanical design applications such as Autodesk
Mechanical Desktop and the MAI Partners – MacNeal Schwendler, MSC /
Working Knowledge, ANSYS, Cimlogic, SPI, Radan, and Metris.
Jim has an Associates degree in Specialized Technology and Drafting
and Design Technology from the Triangle Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. In addition to mechanical products including ProEngineer,
Jim is a Microsoft Certified Product Specialist experienced with Microsoft
operating systems and networking. Jim is a certified Autodesk trainer
and has taught AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop and MAI Partner classes.
He was part of the training team that instructed Pacific Gas & Electric
on JET – custom software for the utility industry, and currently manages
the help desk for PG & E providing technical support and management
for over 800 employees.
An experienced member of the development team at N8-3D Solutions, Jim
has over 18 years of mechanical design experience ranging from Rolling
Mill design in the Steel Industry, to Gearbox design in the Power Transmission
Industry, and Mechanical Consulting in the Autodesk VAR channel. Jim
specializes in AutoCAD configurations and customizations, and PC system
builds and configurations.

and receive training on developmental mechanical design software;
Mechanical designer
for Sumitomo Machinery Corporation where he was a designer for the Paramax
7 line of multistage parallel and right angle helical gear reducers,
mountings, and associated prime movers;
Mechanical designer
for Plasser American Corporation designing railroad track maintenance
machinery, laser track gauging system installations, cab frames, interiors,
tamping units, ballast regulators and conveyors, main frames, and associated
hydraulic/pneumatic components;
Operated and maintained
a pressurized water reactor plant and service systems, a dual steam
propulsion/electrical generating plant for the U.S. Navy;
General arrangements,
detail drawings and assemblies of rolling mill equipment for Duquesne
Electric and Manufacturing Corporation and Mill Equipment and Engineering
Corporation.
Jim specializes in mechanical applications development, training, and
networking support for N8-3D Solutions. He is currently studying to
attain his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) status.
